Plans, real costs, and a straight answer on whether Shopify is worth paying for.
The short answer
Shopify starts at $29/month plus payment fees. It's worth it for nearly any physical-goods business — the cost of switching off it later is far higher than the monthly fee.

Is it worth it?

Pay for Shopify if…
- ✓You sell physical or digital products
- ✓You'd otherwise stitch together Stripe + a cart on Webflow
- ✓You want one platform handling tax, shipping, and POS
Don't pay if…
- ×You sell digital products and an email tool already collects payment
- ×You'd rather embed Stripe Checkout into a Framer landing page for one SKU
Cheaper or better alternatives to Shopify
Stripe + a simple cart is cheaper at very low volume; nothing serious is cheaper at scale.
Shopify vs the competition
Shopify vs Webflow
Shopify if you're selling things. Webflow if you're telling people about the thing. Most serious brands run both, wired together.
Shopify vs Stripe
Shopify if the store IS the product. Stripe if payments are one piece of a larger custom app.
Shopify vs Lovable
If money changes hands for a product in a box, Shopify. If users log in to a product you built, Lovable.
Shopify vs Framer
If money changes hands inside the site, Shopify. Framer is the brand site that links out to the storefront, not the storefront itself.
Shopify vs Bubble
Shopify if you're selling things. Bubble if you're building a custom app that happens to take payments.
Shopify vs Base44
Shopify is the storefront. Base44 is the internal app behind it. Run both for a serious commerce business.
